![]() There are stars and then, there are stars. We can all see them, expecially on a frosty, cold night. This is a story for children who look and wonder and wish on the star.
Once upon a time there was a little star, He wasn't very big, like a lot of the stars around him in heaven. The big jolly sun would start shining early in the morning, then all the stars would shut off their twinkles and go to sleep. Each night, while the stars were at Star School, they would twinkle and twinkle. He would blink and squeeze his eyes open and shut, but he just could not turn on his twinkle. Mr. Moon, the Star School Master, would say, in his deep voice, "Well, never mind Little Star, you are trying, I know". Little Star attended school, very faithfully, every night. Then - one cold, dark, crisp night, Little Star saw some shepherds, who were watching their sheep. Little Star could hear the shepherds talking among themselves in the cold and frosty field. "A new baby born - where ?" Well, Little Star knew all about the new baby, as stars know about all that going on, down on earth. He said to himself, "I'll show them where that special baby is. He is lying in a manger, in the hay, that is the home for the sheep and the cattle. So he began to blink and squeeze his eyes open and shut. And lo, - he began to twinkle. Just then one of the shepherds looked up, to the sky, and pointed to the Little Star. "Look at that star. It is twinkling more than any stars. Let us follow where he is pointing. Oh, how happy Little Star was. He was so happy he could perform this important task. This was his graduation night.
